You should be able to tell the difference between family and business. The business premises should only be meant for doing business not solving family problems.  If family matters are addressed in the business premises this is going to make the production go down. Time will be wasted in addressing family issues. When you are in the business premises work as if you don’t know anybody -deal with them as business partners not as a family member.   When somebody is doing something wrong he should be corrected immediately not to be feared because he is family member. You should be changing the guard.

The time when all the major decisions concerning the family business were made by seniors are gone with time. In  business when the senior member of the family has resisted change then the younger ones should take charge of the firm. They should be able to step down and give the younger generation time to show him how things are supposed to be done.It is advisable that  they leave and give the younger generation time to show him how things are expected to be done . They should open his eyes to see the opportunities that can help boost their lives. The younger generation should be able to see their seniors as the mentors not onsite managers.

Another thing is that the senior members of the family should stop telling people what they need to do and not.  They should allow the younger generation to take charge and show them the right way. This is because of the many trending changes in the business that they are not even aware . As other quoted companies does a family business should also keep adequate records of the business undertaken. It is imperative to keep proper records since it will tell you the direction the industry has taken. They should not make any assumptions -all the records must be maintained.  And there should be an accountability of anything that is not going as expected.  This will make the business to be successful.

Another thing is to avoid assuming things. When you anything that is not correct in the business you should not keep quiet. Differentiating between what is wrong and right is a weakness to some people. In case you notice things that are going well in the business as planned they should be rectified immediately. The members should act responsibly since the family business consulting company is their source of income.
